The ifbee-working paper no. 2 deals critically with the trade and employers’ associations’ ideas regarding economic education. The author, Gerd-E. Famulla, comes to the conclusion:

"In view of the already continuous economicization of all areas of life with serious social and ecological consequences, we do not need to make the economic absolute as well. Rather, we have to learn how the economy can be meaningfully embedded into society, nature and politics again. For this, we need an adequate alternative model." (p. 19).
