Trade and employers’ associations and organisations close to them not only demand that economics is taught at schools as an independent subject. They also want to have an influence on what is taught within this subject. In particular the financial industry overwhelms schools with materials, pushes its way into the classroom and lets its employees teach general financial education. This leads to mixing public educational objectives with private financial interests.
